2010,v-6,4x4,access cab,lifted,33"tires. GAS !!

    I have 2010 with 16,000 miles, 4x4, v-6, access cab, lifted 3" and 33" M/T
    Bone stock motor, I am only getting like 12mpg???? Like 240 miles to the tank. Terrible! I have had all kinds of trucks with the same set up and never this bad of gas. Any tips, how to's or ANYTHING!!!!

    Welcome to TW! First, Are you calculating the MPG correctly? Your ODO is off, due to the tires, so you have to add about 8% to the ODO reading. Then divide by gallons used. Also, larger tires greatly affect MPG, and the lift adds more frontal area. SO, you could be getting between 14 and 16 mpg, which would be considered normal.

    This is correct. Because of your lift and tires your truck is going to have to work harder to move and cut through the air in which you travel though. The aerodynamics of your truck is now changed.

    The only thing that I could suggest is that when you're driving keep your RPMS under 2000. You will get some more miles out of your tank. I am not sure how much more since that you have a lift in bigger tires and I'm running stock everything.

    You modified your truck and wondering why your getting shitty mileage? :D It sucks I know but after riding in my bothers Tundra, I don't feel bad about my not so great gas mileage.
