Hello. Looking for some ideas on how to mount a cellphone to the black plastic dash piece just below the vent to the right of the steering wheel. On the 4x4's I believe this is the spot for the 4x4 selector. For me it's blank.

I need to use a generic type mount for phones around the 3" or less width, needs a bottom shelf or prongs to hold it up.

    Much like this

I remember seeing a post on doing just this with an iphone, but for the life of me I can't find it again, although I don't have an iphone and my current phone, an HTC Sensation, is a bit heavy.

Would appreciate any suggestions. I'd like to keep it up high, but not attached to the windshield.

    Thanks!

velcro, used it on several phones, as long as you can get it to stick to the truck dash you're golden.

I use one of THESE which mounts in the CD player slot. Works great - I love it. If you can't find one that mounts exactly where you want it to, buy one that you like, Dremel the back of it if necessary and mount it with 3M tape where you want it.

I have a proclip set-up. I have used them for my past 4 trucks. Never had issue 1 with any of them.
