maybe they'll update the GPS software to one closer to the 20th century ? that'd be a good starting point. having to plug my damn phone every time just to get the half ass traffic on my GPS is entirely retarded.

The update version is 1.8.4. The TSB is TSB-0026-12. You need to have the issues like Voice Recognition not Available, A blue dot on the map screen that moves with the map, etc. There atr other isues I guess, but they didn't even ask me they schedualed an appointment.

Awesome! Can't wait for the updates to the features I never use. I just want the messaging and calendar features to work but I guess that's up to the phone manufacturer...

Believe it or not I have contacted my dealer, Toyota USA on Facebook, and customer service over the phone about some of those issues like accesing Bing via voice because the Nav database sucks. Glad they are already making drastic changes and improvements. I hope the update this friday is the change in this link. Thanks.

Well I updated from 1.7.4 to 1.8.4 today and the dealer did it in no time. They told me that the TSB came out in January of this year and was supposed to be part of a pre-inspection to all trucks sold after Jan. Since they missed it when I got the truck in Apr, they did the update for free. As far as the update, it fixed subtle concerns and flaws and is not the large update with the use of more apps and bing via voice as the link showed. I was told (before I asked) that the update in the link was supposed to come out on 20 July and be free. We are supposed to be notified on our head unit that there is an update available and it will download through our phone. We will see next month I guess.

As many of you, I am really unhappy I even bothered with my Entune system. Just tired of promises and updates that really should have been done before they sold these units. As you all know these units were not cheap! Shame on Toyota! Emails and messaging is more than 50 % of what we use our phones for! Who uses open table? Come on Toyota! Give us what we paid for!

the entne i could care less about, but the JBL sound that ONLY comes with entune was worth every penny to me.

I've noticed that since the update to 1.8.4, I can no longer use entune without having the app installed on my phone. Also, for some reason everytime I get in the truck, if I want to use the internet feature I have to go into settings and select "connect for internet" it connects for phone automatically, but not internet or music. Once connected it seems to be smoother in operation with less hiccups. On another note, has anybody noticed the"more like this" feature when playing audio? It works well when plugged in or with bluetooth. When plugged in with the usb, you can search your music library which is pretty awesome.

Tips and tricks are helpful, the fact that you don't like it...and no reason why...is not so helpful. Trying to keep this thread as an open forum for those looking to resolve issues that they have, not to tell the world it sucks.

For those of you with iPhones, I too was irritated with the process of having to connect my phone via USB. Not because im lazy, I just never can remember to grab my phone when I get out of the truck because I am so used to it always being in my pocket. Fortunately I found a way around this but it involves jailbreaking your phone. The benefits are well worth it to me though. Jailbreak your phone if you already haven't (there are numerous guides on the net, it is really easy). Once you have this completed, open Cydia and search for a program called MyWii. I believe it is version 5. Install it, then open the app and make sure that bluetooth tethering is enabled. Once I did this, all I have to do is press traffic, weather, Pandora etc and it will automatically tether the internet connection to the phone, then the app will connect. No wires!!!!

I talked with my dealer about the iPhone issues...(I don't have an iPhone so my concern was minimal). They told me there was an over the air type update for the iPhone that was supposed to fix the wireless issue. If you still have the issue, see if you have the latest entune software update which is 1.8.4. I have noticed that with the new update, I had to re imput my username and password in the head unit again after updating and since done, I have not had any connectivity issues and the entire system works smoother. My issue I had previously with needing to manually "connect for internet" everytime I needed to use an app requiring internet has not been an issue since updating the username and password.

That is true, but you have to pay an extra 20$ per month for hotspot with verizon. Jailbreaking was a $20 one time fee for the MyWii app, that is why I decided to go with that

With the new Verizon plans...Which will cost me more money...allow you to share data between multiple devices (good if you have more than 2 which I don't). The wifi hotspot is going to be free. I guess so you can use more data because it is no longer unlimited and they want you to pay for it.
