Hey guys well the worst has happend... Im in need of a new front cv axle... but am wondering what, who, where, to get them. I cant find a reasonable price on OEM and aftermarket ones have horror stories about not flexing as much as oem... I need one fast just tight on funds cause I just spent on winch asse. :annoyed:

Installation usually goes well.......snap a couple and you'll change your mind, or listen to someone that has snapped a couple, they do not have the travel that the OEM's have causing them to bind and break.

good luck meaning the customer doesnt come back for warranty work due to breaking or whatnot.

but I do agree sudafed that OEM is the best option, OP was looking for options as far as price goes.

Anyone know anything about Cardone cv's? Found them on rock auto and are rather cheap.

Ok, so I am going to replace my drivers side CV needle bearing with the East Coast Gear Supply bushing kit so I ordered the bushing, seal, puller, and installation tool. I am also going to replace both wheel bearings. And, depending on how things look, I may also have to replace one or both CV half shafts. So help me out here guys, which CV half shafts should I order, and what else do I need? I checked out RockAuto and they have good prices but there are several options and they also list Axle Shaft Seal and Axle Shaft Bearing, do I need or should I order these parts too? Is the Axle Shaft Bearing they list the same bearing that I am going to replace with the ECGS bushing, or is there some other bearing there that I don't know about?

It looks like these are the CV half shaft choices:
    Cardone
    Surtrack
    APWI
    EMPI

    TacomaCVHalfShaftAssemblyoptions_66c27741ccb3b294138aa4af23a8a1ce502e9724.jpg

    Thanks for the advice.

EDIT: I guess I should add that my truck has stock front suspension and I don't really go wheeling, just gravel roads and light off road stuff so I'm not going to be flexing the crap out of it or running the CVs at the kind of angles that a lift would do to them.
