Found a great deal on a stock X-Runner cat-back brand new in box. Is it louder/throatier than our stock exhaust setups? I'm looking for a tone that is a little deeper than stock, but doesn't really drone or become obnoxious over time. Muffler looks different for sure. Pretty sure the access cab has the same wheel base as the DCSB, so it should fit just fine right?

That looks pretty different to me the x-runner has a different way of mounting the exhaust due to the x bracing, especially at the inlet of the muffler from the intermediate pipe. Get a exhaust that is made for your truck it will save you a lot of trouble. Here is some manufacturers of exhausts for our Tacoma's Gibson, TRD, Magnaflow, Banks, JBA, just to name a few.

Looks like that ebay exhaust. Ive wondered myself if that exhaust would fit a dcsb. Its cheap and I will to gamble the couple of hundred bucks on it if it fits. Magaflow and the other name brands are jhst to pricey for me.

To your question of it fitting on a dcsb...yes it will

Access cabs (xrunners included) and dcsb run on the same wheelbase

If it's cheap enough and you like the sound, buy it and have the just the muffler installed on your truck using your piping (just check that the inlet/outlet are the same as stock).

FYI, If you go to a site like Autoanything and look for an exhaust for a DCSB and an XRunner, they come up with different part numbers. I did a comparison on a Gibson exhaust and they weren't the same.

xr exhaust will fit a dub cab just fine nothing is different between the 2 trucks. I've got a stock xr exhaust that I use to have on my truck.

    Whoa thanks for the bump!

Okay so I'm pretty confident it will fit, but I just found out this guy is scamming people by incorrectly titling his CL posts to say X-Runner stock exhaust. It is in fact a cheap cat-back imported by the hundreds from China.

I have a deal on a used Gibson cat-back for $100. I think I'll go with that one.

I'd be curious to hear your review on the Gibson setup. I had one on my old V8 and loved it but haven't heard one on a Tacoma yet.

I'll be picking it up and installing it tonight, so I'll chime in later to let you know how it is.

Hopefully, I'll have a decent sound clip video up. All the ones I've seen on YouTube haven't been good enough to support my decision.
