Questions about truck care products

I wondered what everyone used to wash and wax your tacoma i just got my 2012 tacoma double cab and i would like to buy some products that arent the bargain brand stuff any help is much appreciated Thank You

 

I use Meguiars for soap. I can wash my whole truck and still have suds in the bucket when I'm done. I was given Armor All soap before and the suds were gone in 5 mins. I've been using Meguiars for over 5 years and couldn't be happier with their cleaning products.

ok guys what about wax

 

I use Meguiar's Gold Plus liquid wax. I just put a coat on my new 2012 V6 Dbl Cab 4WD in Pyrite Mica. Pretty easy to apply and buff out, looks great, and lasts a long time.

 

What do you guys use for buffing?

 

I use the Meguiar's products. I don't do any buffing not yet maybe when it starts to fad.
By that time who knows what products will be available.

Read this thread and pray you have a stronger will than me. I dropped $200+ on products for my truck after reading it. It paid off in the end though because I detailed a couple cars after mine and made the money back plus some.

 

There's a whole section of this site dedicated to detailing. You should check it out if you want to go nuts on some suds and wax.

 

For a full detail I wash, clay bar, Meguiar's Ultimate Compound, then Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax.

For just a wash, I use the Mother's Carnauba Wash & Wax. I was using Eagle One but once I switched to Mother's, I'll never go back.

 

Wax, I love the S100 you get at Harley Davidson stores. It is the same stuff as P21s, one of the best carnuba waxes on the market from what I have read. Easy to apply and remove. Have to put it on a few times a year though.

OP, with all the suggestions you get, pay attention to what color the poster's truck is. People with white trucks, like myself, can get a great shine with certain products that people with a black truck wouldn't touch. For example, products like clay bar and polishing compounds might leave light scratches on a black truck that look like crap unless you really use a fine polish where as on a white truck, I could skip from clay bar to wax and it'd look great. I'm not a detailer, just noticed that poeple with different color trucks all tend to prefer the same products.
