So I have a 2012 and just noticed than if I have my headlights on and turn off the ignition my headlights go off automatically, is this safe. I'm thinking of just leaving them on all the time if they go off and won't drain the battery. anyone know?

My 2010 has this feature, as well as my brother's 2007 Scion TC.

Neither have ever drained the batteries because of the switch.

I leave mine on all the time..they shut off after you take the key out and open a door. No problems with the battery so far...7 months later.

Yeah - they don't turn off until you open the door.

You could drain the battery if you left them off and either climbed out the window or climbed over and went out the passenger side.

You laugh - but that might happen if you park in a *reallytight* parking space sometime.
