Upper control arm question

so im in a 2011 double cab 4wd 6 speed with 5100, i have the add a leafs but havnt installed them. im waiting to buy coils and some upper control arms. im also trading my truck in this week on the same truck but 2012 and a TRD sport. the dealership is moving my 5100s over so im going to just continue working towards the lift just on the new truck. my question is for piecing together a 3" lift like im doing who makes the best UCA for the money and where should i look? thank you.

 

Any of the uniball UCA's (Camburg, Total Chaos) are great, or if on a budget the Light Racing is an option too (not as good, no uniballs).

 

Also, may want to buy them now...since the dealer is doing the work...you can have them put the whole lift in....if you can swing it.

 

thanks.. im leaning towards the chaos cause its what i know. are the camburgs any better? looks like im alteast gonna have to spend 600 or more..?

 

They are spendy and trying to avoid a but on which is better, either one is way better than stock anyways. But I think technically Camburg has a larger uniball size, but not sure.

I would probably go with Total Chaos UCAs though just cuz.

unless you're running extended travel shocks a ball joint style will work just fine. Light Racing UCA's are booted so less maintenance and no squeaking. Thats what I'm running.

If you aren't rock crawling and need extreme articulation LR UCA's are a good choice

The Camburg UCA's use a 1.25" inch uni-ball where as Total Chaos uses a 1" uni-ball. Some people think the 1.25" is a gimmick but take it for what it is worth.

Personally I think one of the strongest UCA's out there right now is the Icon Billet UCA's. They are pretty damn expensive and relatively new, but they seem to be indestructible.

which ones are running the booted ball joint? and keep in mind im in florida, lots of mudding, close to or on the beach a lot, especially during summer. salt air and sea water is pretty unforgiving. glad you brought up the rust issue, thats definitely a concern.
