I'm going to be selling my truck soon and i took the normal look at kbb and nada. Kbb puts my truck at 26.5, nada says 26.3

Checked on autotrader and what?!? There are a lot of tacos selliing for 30-32 with the same mileage as mine! That's more than i paid when i bought it new. Also the same reason why i bought a new one because the used ones were soo high.

So anyways, i was gonna put it up for 26,500 but now i'm thinking maybe i should ask more. I just priced out a new one and they are 34.5 msrp.

Should i ask more? I'll be selling it stock form btw

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
Price it the same as the others comparable to yours in your area. They buyer will probably negotiate a lower price, and you will be ok with lowering a little since you priced it so high. Who knows, somebody may not have negotiating skills, and you may be able to get what you are asking.

When I sold my civic last year, KBB had it valued at $3,200. I priced it at $5000 on craigslist and I ended up getting $4500 because the buyer just wanted a car and did not know how to negotiate. I got way over what it was valued, takes a little luck finding the right buyer, but be patient, they are out there.

Ive seen the prerunner version of your truck selling for 26.5 around here so I would probably ask 28 and see what happens

They have amazing resale value, but like many people including you, the price difference between a 2 yr old tacoma and new is less than 5k usually so really why not go new plus "usually" better financing options from a dealer. So I think it depends on how long you want to wait for someone to purchase it at a higher price or lower it a little and sell it fast. 26.5k does seem a little low in my mind for a 2010. Similar prerunners are going for 27k for instance.

You going to be selling any of your aftermarket parts like the sound system?

uh maybe things have changed but, when i was buying my truck the used ones they had on the lot where literally as much as the new trucks. hence why i got a new one instead of going with a used truck.

Exactly. But it all comes down to how much you think your truck is worth to you. What value have you gotten out of it per say. I think of it like this, if it cost me say 32k and im selling it at 28k and actually get that. Not a bad deal in my mind, its like a 2 year lease but actually saving over 1k probably.

But honestly I would start at the 30k like you saw on autotrader. At least you'll get people to come look and have some negotiating to come down and possibly get 28k-29k out of your tacoma.

List it for $29 and see what happens. You can always negotiate down but once you list a price, you can't go up (well you can but it's not a sales tactic with a very good track record).

my future wife (getting married in september) id going to PA school in january and we are looking at buying a house right now. I paid $500/mo on my truck and am well ahead of my payments. I only owe 15.5 on the truck right now so if i sell it i can get a solid 10-12 form it in my pocket, plus another 6 from the aftermarket parts, and then i can just ouright buy a used truck and have no payments. Just want to reduce my payment with buying a house and the wife going to school full time next year, when she gets done with school i'll buy a 4 door rubicon and work it out. I have a very heavily modded honda s2000 so i still have 1 fun car, but i don't need 2 of them at this point in my life.

What he said. Might not have a bad chance of getting a good price out of it since the new 2012 are 34.5k msrp.

Different area of sale, different prices. If you put in his zip code msrp for 34.5k with just a base TRD off road option. I did the same truck in my zip code and it came to 32k msrp but actually are going more for 34.5k still. I looked and just bought a 2012 DCLB SR5 model because I didn't want to spend 35k msrp then add taxes etc come out to 40k when all is said and done......

I just tossed it up on craiglist for 32.5 with all the mods. if it doesn't sell before i find some factory rims and tires to put it back to stock then i'll part it out and sell it as stock i figure.

You can always back off on the listing price if it doesn't get much action after a few days too..and of course people can negotiate like it was stated.

Not the same as yours by any means but I just bought my 2010 regular cab slider for 17k. Got a good quote on my 06 Colorado and the 1.9% so it's 200/mo for 60.
