Got the new 255s mounted yesterday...

Coby (uscg 2008) and I took a ride out to the USCG base, and used the machine in the Hobby Shop. Everything went well, although managed to break one of the TPMS sensors off the valve stem. Not losing any air, don't think I'm going to bother trying to replace the transmitter. Pretty confident I'll be able to tell when I need to air my tires.

After two days of cussing, welding and grinding. Oh, and drilling as well - finished my IFS skid. Damn, I have a new respect for the fab guys that offer products on TW. Had to do ALOT of tweaking to get the skid to fit on here, can't even imagine having to build something that will fit on ANY truck.

Thinking about doing a build thread...we'll see.

Next on the list is some sliders. Already capped my square tubing - the shitty Harbor Freight pipe bender that I was using self-destructed. That project is on the back burner for now.

Oh yeah, did the "Cheap DTRL" mod yesterday too. Figured I'd go this route rather than the relay...don't want to worry about melting my lenses.

Think the 255s look pretty kick ass. I'm happy.

Glad I'm going fishing for three months...need to take a break from the mods!

How about some more of you sign up on the Kragen HID/LED Group Buy? Come on - want a pair of 55W HIDS for my ARB, taking off June 9th to go fishing...let's make it happen before then!!

I'm surprised, truck likes the pizza. They're lighter than the 265s that were on there. They were retreads, after all.

Edit: The tires I took off were retreads, 265/75/16s.

The tires I just put on are 255/85/16 Mud Terrains...

Had that done at a vinyl shop a while back. $15, with the mini truck style 4 Wheel Drive emblem too.

Those 255s really fill out the truck perfectly IMO. A/Ts werent cutting it in the mud at all...

I think those look great! Did you have to trim in your wheel well? Has your mileage suffered?

No trimming. Dont even have a clue on mileage. They are much lighter than the 265s that came off, which was surprising. Haven't really noticed any change in feel/gears either.

Got 90 miles of road on the island, my commutes about a mile and the speed limit in town is 30. Mileage really isn't a factor...
