    Mike Sweer states the main thing holding back a diesel tundra and taco is the added cost to the customer to pass US emissions. I wonder how Mercedes can make their bluetec GLK so competitive in price to the gas GLK 350. The bluetec starts $1500 more expensive but it includes 4-matic(AWD). If you add 4-matic to the 350 it's a $2k option, so the diesel is actually cheaper with the same options. The little 2.1 diesel puts out 370 lbs, impressive.

    Well WTF? How can it be so hard for Toyota to put a diesel in when they already have them? Not to mention Ford, Chevy and Dodge have been putting diesels in half ton trucks for years. And Chevy is coming out with a 2.8l Duramax for the Colorado next year.... You would think that they could just take the engine from the Hilux, make a few minor changes, and put it in the Tacoma.
