305/70/16's

So I had some 305/70/16's put on today, the tires are almost junk so I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to keep them on, they shake pretty bad but the kid that put them on didn't balance them for shit. So if they don't balance any better tomorrow I'm just gonna take them off. All I have for a lift is front bilstein 5100's and rear wheelers 3 leaf AAL, I'm also running 1.5" wheel spacers. It looks ok I think but I'm not thrilled about the shit balance job, the km2s I had on my other truck weren't close to this bad.. We'll see. Attached are some pics. Let me know what you think. 305/70/16's-imageuploadedbytapatalk1337981835.765198.jpg305/70/16's-imageuploadedbytapatalk1337981852.633167.jpg305/70/16's-imageuploadedbytapatalk1337981867.920447.jpg

I don't think they look too big, but can you turn the steering wheel without hitting anything on the truck?

they actually dont rub all that much, a little bit at full lock to the right but thats it, i havent trimmed anything yet. i think they look good, the pics suck but in person it looks mean and its rides ok, it will be better once i get them balanced out tomorrow morning after work. like i said i went with 1.5" wheel spacers so i think that saved quite a bit of rubbing, and i dont think they wouldve cleared the UCA's without the spacers. if i cant get them to balance out any better im just gonna have to keep my eyes open for a set of 285 AT's, in better shape.

Denis, im located about 20-25 mins north of concord. we should get together sometime, i havent been able to make it to any meets...

Just trying to help out since you said you were thinking about taking them off possibly.
Apologies if I sounded crass, I said don't mind me/my opinion

It's just that a lot of people running just 285s with the same lift had to cut/chop after flexing their suspension out a little on different terrain. And spacers may solve rubbing on UCA issues but don't necessarily help with the body mount. If that isn't an issue for you than that is awesome man. And I'm truly glad you got the tires you want.

Not baggin on ya, just lookin out

Good day sir

Hey that's me ^^^^^

Yup lots of pics with my 305s on my build page too.

I really like the looks and performance of a wide tire. I have a full OME lift (~3" lift) and encountered lots of rubbing offroad so I had to chop my cab mounts and pinch weld. They ride great and if I had to do it again, I would do the exact same thing

I had 305s and thwy rub while turning into parking lots going over off camber shit, turning left and right and so on. Places where it rubbed.... Lca,uca, fenderflare, cab mounts, my arb bumper ( actually cut the lugs off the tire).

Not sure how you dont have much rubbing. Good for you.
Let me know a month from now after some drive time is put in.

they should balance just fine. Mine are perfect with no vibes or anything like that. Why wouldn't they balance correctly?

thats surprising, mine really dont rub at all. all i had to do was take the front mud flaps off, i didnt even try running them lol. but i havent been in the woods yet, as far as speed bumps, parking lot hills, and full lock turning, they only slightly rub when turning to the right at full lock. my 5100s are only 3 days old, but idk if those settle? anyways, im pretty happy with hoW it looks and how it drives, i thought for sure they were NOT going to fit, but they do fit pretty well, and the wide tire looks mean IMO.

Don't remember if your the one that pm'd me for pics?

but I'm glad that you took the chance on those tires and found that they do fit
get them rebalanced by someone that knows what their doing and you should happy with your choice

and your rite they do look badass, I get comps all the time on my tires

haha thanks man! yea i did pm you, i was hoping they would look ok, just had to find a POS shop to mount them on my wheels since they are only 7" wide and not the reccomended 8 by bfg to have them put on, and the rear 2 are warn on the outer edge so no commercial tire shop would mount them, plus noone wanted to mount the spacers either. wtf is up with that? anyways im just happy i finally found a place that would do it without trying to sell me a new set of tires, hopefully shops will balance them (i would think they would, not like they mounted them so no liability) <- can anyone chime in on this?
