Front Wheel bearings destroyed and "welded to hubs"....

any suggestions on where to get bearings cheap?
my trucks got about 105k miles and i've been running 265 75 16's and will be running a heavier rim with the same size tires come next week. just want to replace bearings so i dont have to deal with them later.

You just take a mig or arc welder and run a bead on the bearing face only. Just go around at least half way. Let it cool and it just about falls out.

I used to work at golf course as a mechanic and did this all the time.

 

yeah im thinking they just didnt do anything to the bearing because they are sealed and i had no idea they couldnt be packed as theyre a sealed unit. glad i got 90k out of them though!

Is that the grease you put in them? or did you take that out and put different grease back in. what kind of grease did you use. Im changing mine out this weak, front bearing failed after 76,000

I bought a set of these. They are a complete assembly, with bearing, bearing hub and wheel hub already pressed together, with seals and properly lubricated. I'll be installing this weekend, without the need for a 40 ton press!

Yeah no kidding! Thanks for the link Michael. Since i made this thread i've sold the 07' tacoma and am back into a 10' TRD 4x4 offroad and had to replace the drivers side bearing and hub at 86k all with stock size tires albiet with toyo m't's and BFG kM2's.

 

I'll be getting the same soon too. Nice setup.
