POLL: Access Cab - remove or keep in the rear jump seats?

So wondering if the Access Cab owners have preferred to modify the back and remove the rear jump seats, or do most people keep them in? Seems like you cant use them for much transportation, as they can be uncomfortable. But also seems that if you remove them it would give you more room to store things, add room for your dog, etc.

I have them in my 2012 but really thinking about removing them...if its not that hard. Think the extra space would be nice.

 

The seats in the back were no good for me, chucked them.

 

How hard are they to remove? Guess i might have to try that search function....!

 

Make a platform to go over them maybe? Then you can put some little stuff under and have a flat surface on top for your dog or gear or whatever.

If they are easily put back in I'd say rip em put n store em but Idk.

I use the rear seats mostly as support for the dog hammock in the back. I've only ever had someone ride back there twice-I would never do it for any trip over half and hour.

Like I said, I rarely use them, but they are nice to have if you do need them.

 

Remove the center box and put a platform over then. If some one needs to ride put the platform in the back works for me.

 

Took mine out and made a 3-piece platform. The outside pieces are hinged to allow access to the jack, etc. The dog approved of the mod.

 

I rarely carry people back there, but I keep them there if I need to, once they fold up they leave plenty of space. If not, I have an entire 6ft bed to put stuff. I did however remove those pesky headrests, my view out the back window is so much better now, not to mention it looks a lot cleaner than it did.

i kept mine. folding the seats down provides enough space for me and my hunting gear. and dog.

 

I left mine in, removed the headrests and centre console.

 

I just keep mine folded down all the time. I have a chain and some straps under them that I can grab even if there is stuff on top.

 

I yanked the head rest's, but left the seats in.

 

i think in the 3 years i had my truck someones rode in the back maybe 3 times.

 

I bought the ACCESS CAB so I would not have to ferry people around in my truck. I own an Acura for that.

 

Agree, i don't think i will carry that many in the lifetime of my ownership of the truck. Think i will construct one of the makeshift benches for the rear as an earlier post alluded to.

I have an 08' so no goofy jump seats like you guys have but I removed them all the same.

 

The platform makes it easier to pack boxes and larger items. Smaller things can go underneath. The dog is more comfortable with the larger flat surface, too.
