Hey guys I'm new here and new to the Tacoma world in general. Just got my first Tacoma about 2 months ago it was a used 2010 with 21k miles on it. Anyway my question is I have been driving it pretty regularly lately about 200 or so miles every day due to my job at the moment. But today when I got home I did a few thing and then needed to go back out and when I went to go I noticed that my traction control was off and wouldn't turn back on, also that the ABS symbol was on, as well as the like for the Rear-Diff Lock. I have no idea what could have caused it and was wondering if you guys had any knowledge that could possibly help. Just to give me an over view of what it could be. Other than that its going back to the dealer tomorrow and getting checked out.

Sorry this was long winded but I've included some pics of the lights sure it wont help. Also don't know if this is the correct place to put this at or not so if its not my bad.

Is it possible you engaged rear locker by accident? Did you try to turn it off?

First thing I would do is pull out the owners manual and start checking fuses for those systems.

You have to be in 4wd low before you can engage the locker but I don't see the 4x4 lights. I'd look at the fuses first.

/reading is fundamental. You're a prerunner so the above only applies to 4x4's.

    Go get the vehicle scanned.

Toyota's will shutdown related or paired systems in various conditions and the lights showing are a indication that system is affected. Could be something simple.

Toyota toolbox, Marathon seat covers and Husky liners.......so far!
My 2012 diff lock engaged going down the interstae at 60 mph:eek: I was no where near the button, and I was in 2 wheel drive. It made a terrible noise. I called the dealership and talked to the shop manager. He told me to call him back if it did it again. So far it has not. Everything still works and there is no noise coming from the rearend, so I've got my fingers crossed that it was a fluke.

    how about this first!!

try the simple things first. Dont recomend the OP anything else until he answers this question. the Locker will turn off all the VSC stuff... turn locker off and VSC will come back on.

you need to be going around 5mph to turn it on or off. read your owners manual for a better understanding of the locker

His photos clearly show the Rear Diff. is LOCKED. An Off Road PreRunner can lock it anytime (however Toyota recommends it be used only to get un stuck, up to 5 mph)... and drive it any speed. Turning will be harder since the differential is locked.

PRESS the RR DIFF LOCK button to disengage.

Just took my truck in today..and good thing too. They said that my r/r
Drum (something like that) got water in it which it shouldn't..it's rusted and they're going to resurface it...that may have been the cause of all my lights coming on..thank god for warranty

Regarding the rear locker - you have to under 5mp to engage but can travel highway speeds right?
