So I went about doing the ABS/VSC/TRAC mod that you can see here :
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/technical-chat/4838-cheap-free-mods-3.html

It deffinatly worked without a problem, but once I wanted my ABS back on I took the blue/yellow wire off ground and taped it back up. And now the ABS wont turn back on and the ABS, Rear Dif, and Engine light are staying on. I was wondering if this is a common problem, how can I get my ABS back on?

Why didnt you just use a toggle switch? I added a switch to mine, and just flip it on or off when needed. Try that maybe?

it sounds like you may have blown a fuse. Did you disconnect the battery during the undoing?

What exactly do you mean by "taped it back up"...?

Something as critical as an ABS control wire probably shouldn't be twisted/taped back together. Not trying to be a dick, just offering some advice. Perhaps think about either wiring a toggle switch into your circuit, or use proper "quick disconnect" crimps.

Sounds like you may have blown a fuse...

    Just my .02.

I had spliced into the blue/yel wire and added a wire to attached it to a ground screw using electrical tape to hold everything together. I never turned the battery off. The reason that I did not use a toggle switch was cause I was makeing sure that the mod worked for me before I buy a toggle switch and cut out a hole in my dashboard. So once I got everything hooked up my engine light, rear diff, abs light came on and the speedometer wasnt working. But the mod was working. Once I was done using the mod I took the ground wire completly out of the splice to the blue/yel wire and spliced the blue/yel in with only itself to put it back to factory. All this without disconnecting the battery, I thought after this it would go back to normal but nothing did.

Since this I have checked ALL the fuses, discounted my battery for 15min, re-spliced the blue/yel wire to give it fresh copper and taped it up to ensure insulation, none of the other wires were cut or anything. And I have been reading, plus some are saying that it sounds like something to do with the VSS, since my speedometer isnt wokring. So im not sure what to do exactly

OP, you need to post detailed information if your serious about getting help.

What year and model is your truck?
    Is it VSC equipped?
    Locker equiped?
Please link to the exact post/procedure you followed, not just the thread.

Also, when you say you "checked the fuses" did you use a test light or a multimeter or did you just visually inspect them? Did you check all of the fuses under the hood as well as under the dash?

Using tape to hold everything together is a horrible idea.. You should at a minimum use crimp connectors.

I solder everything including crimp connectors then heat shrink tube over for protection. Tape on top of that if it is in a high abrasion area. I work with outdoor 12v systems every day..corrosion is everywhere.

Not to thread jack...but, I think you and I are a little biased when it comes to 12V system wiring.

Here's what it should look like.

I'll take a wild stab in the dark and say it's because you didn't disconnect the negative battery cable on your battery. It's just a good rule of thumb to treat any electrical wire as if it were live.

I'd go with this. Also, don't just twist the wire back together and throw some tape on it. Learn your lesson and at least fix it correctly using solder and heat shrink so it doesn't short out again.
