LEARNING A LESSON! B4 I start tearing my new 2012 Tacoma dash apart, has anyone installed this Pioneer stereo AVH-P6300BT (FLIP-UP UNIT)??

i HAVE THE 2x TO 1x DASH KIT and have reviewed the dis-assembly post in this forum. Just wondering about tips and tricks to simplify the install and prevent damage.

Also installing a Pyle flat (underseat....maybe) subwoofer. Bet it's gpoing to be a B$%^&!

I'm pretty sure I saw a note on Crutchfield about fold-out screen units not being compatible. May want to check into that. Other than that, do some research. Search the forums as well as Google and YouTube because there are TONs of DIY's for installing aftermarket head units.

Looked at Crutchfield b4 I purchased this unt cheaper elsewhere. Bought the Crutchfield cable and !X DIN Scosche box (elsewhere) in black as well as silver to determine best match. CRUTCHFIELD site recommends this unit as a fit for the 2012 Tacoma so thought I'd be OK. Was a bit skeptical about the motorized fold out DVD units but thought to give it a try. No installs in Tacomas on youtube. Will try google. May start on it this weekend. Will take pics when I do and post.
    Thanks for suggestions.

The most difficult part of these installs is stuffing all of the wires back into the dash in a way that they don't bind or get squashed on the aftermarket head unit. Try to keep your cabling as neat as possible and route it in a way that it will fall into one of the holes on the back side (the one on the back right is the larger of the two IIRC).
