Hello, newbie to the forum. I found a 06 Tacoma, TRD 4x4 double cab with 130,000 miles listed for $11,900 without negotiating. The vehicle appears to be in great shape. I need to go take a look at it, however the miles scare me. How many miles is too many on an 06?

My situation is unique. This would not be a daily driver, it would be a 3rd vehicle used to hunt, fish, haul, play, etc so I won't put on a ton of miles. It just needs to be dependable. I am looking to trade my 06 Silverado Ext cab 4x4 Z71 with 58k miles for it. I am looking to downsize a bit and also get a little cash back. I was looking for a Taco or Frontier double cab for around $10k. I would venture to say I would get around $15k in trade for my truck according to KBB.

The other option is to look at Gen1 Tacos with lower miles. Would a Gen 1 with lower miles be a better option? Should I expect a Gen 1 or Gen 2 to run longer? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

That's not too many miles, and a really good price. I'd go for it.

I have 90k on my 06 and have had absolutely no problems with it.

130K is nothing. I wouldn't hesitate on that purchase, but maybe try talking them down another grand or two. Try to find its service history if possible.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
130k miles is just getting broke in for a Toyota, there is at least 300k to go! I'd say go for it, if it is in good shape and has a good history, then why not? Post up some pics if you can, we all love pics 'round here!
