    Tires Plus offers the lifetime alignment for 4x4's. Pretty nice. The one nearby even has a tech that specializes in it.

    Comes with 2 oil changes for $149...I told them to keep the oil changes and they offered to change the rear diff fluid.

    5100's have 4 settings stock, .85", 1.75" and 2.5". At stock setting, you'd gain 0 lift and wouldn't need to change a thing. At .85, or 1.75 you could get away without getting an AAL and sitting more level. At 2.5", you might not need UCA's and should get an AAL otherwise you'll be really nose high.

    Does this also apply to trucks w/the TSB done? I have the TSB done and am now considering the 5100's set to 1.75" to sort of level things out better & get it up in the air a little bit more. I plan to install myself as I've done suspension on vehicles before even though it's been a few years.

    With the TSB done, setting them at 1.75" should level you out...measure form the center of the wheel hub to the fender on your front and rear tire and you'll see what you have currently for a rake and what you have to add in the front to level yourself out.

    As for the OP, The shop that I was going to have put the lift in told me 150-200 for the install..but the douche i ended up dealing with told me 4+ hours and 400-500 dollars. told me "the book calls for 3 hours to do each strut tower". which when translated to real talk means "I'm going to do it in an hour, and rape you in labor costs"

    I did my own (not having done any suspension work on my own before) based off a few threads in here..and i did the whole front start to finish in about 1.5 hrs. as long as you have the tools, and know how to turn a wrench :) you can put the shocks in yourself.

    I used this thread for the front. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/suspension/211535-billstein-5100-easy-install-method.html Was super easy and felt really safe during the whole thing.

    I just measured and I've got 22.5" out back and 19.75" up front so that's a difference of 2.75" which is a lot more than I expected. Sounds like a 1.75" lift with the 5100's will still leave me with a rake of 3/4" which would be enough to be noticeable. I only had the TSB done a few months ago so maybe it will settle a little bit more but I would imagine they've settled about as far as they're going to by now.

    I agree. Do it yourself. I did my UCAs and front coilover lift myself. It's easy. Total install time for me was about 3.5 hours and I cut my UCA bolts with a hacksaw instead of bending the inner fender! Also, on a separate occation, I did my rear AALs and Billy 5125s. Again, easy. But hey, if you would rather pay a shop to do it for you, that's your choice. It's your money after all. You can do anything you want with it.

    You could set the Billy's at 2.5. I assume we're talking using stock coils? That would put you at .25 rake. Which isn't that bad.

    I think I read that 1.75" is safe but if you go to 2.5" you may need UCA's. :confused:

    Is a potential...I just went for it and put mine set at 2.5 with no UCA's and it worked out fine for me. I heard someone that did it also on a 12 sport..so I hoped for the best. Maybe someone that has a 2010 and lifted it 2.5 like this can point out whether they needed them or not. I'd hate to tell you you don't need them then end up needing them :/

    Yeah, that's the big question mark. Just because someone else with a 2010 had luck also doesn't guarantee it would work on mine. I guess I could install them and if I get clearance issues set it back to 1.75" while I order up some Eibach springs (setting the 5100's back to 0.85") or UCA's or something along those lines to remedy the problem.

    Yea I agree, i just assumed I'd give it a try and see what happened. If i could get it aligned without UCA's i saved the 375 that metaltech had a GB for them..if not, id still be able to get them for that price and no harm done..i have other modes of transportation.

    Yeah or option 2 is just go down to 1.75" on the 5100 since I've read this is safe across the board. That's if you don't want to spend nearly $400 more than what you've already invested. Either way, if you go 5100 solely you've got options moving forward.

    Installed mine all by myself yesterday.. took about 2 hours (was being careful, as I didn't want to die).

    2 hours of my time = free
    Drive to tire place and bought a 3 year alignment plan = $160

    Total = $160 for 3 years
