Hey guys. I'm looking to buy a Tacoma pre runner bcuz I rarely go to the snow. I found a great deal on one but it doesn't have rear differential lock. Yet it's still a pre runner. Is there a huge difference between a pre runner and a pre runner with rear differential lock?

I live in modesto ca and go snowboarding 2-3 times a year and do some small trail joy riding.

Diff lock makes a huge difference.

    4x4 FTW though

No such thing as a prerunner 4x4

    Prerunner Tacomas are 2wd

    and For The Win

Get the pre-runner with the TRD package so you get a rear locker.

I have a 4x4 yet on most trail runs I am in 2 wheel drive with my rear locker engaged.

FTW = For the Win.. Its a nerdy gamer term that is all over the internet.

Toyota Pre-runners are a lifted 2 wheel drive Toyota Tacoma or tundra with the same suspension as a 4x4 without the front driveline or transfercase.

So you cannot have a 4x4 pre-runner unless you use the Term in your own way.

    miles, no, but......

if you are gonna buy a truck of that caliber, buy it privately or from a toyota dealer. this way its thoroughly inspected. this truck still has auction numbers on the window. as a dealer auction usually = junk

1 owner car strange enough even though there is a gap in mileage history...only 1 service recorded ever! At a dealer at least... average price sold wholesale is 9725. average asking price in your area is 12950. book value is exactly 10000. high miles enough that if you can buy ot for under 11000 you would be doing well IF you have a private inspection done first. my main concern for you is there is 5 outstanding recalls that would be free at a dealer. why was this truck never serviced at a toyota dealer even while under warranty as new......
