    Thanks,

I cant get over how solid these racks are. Even taking the backs off road there is next to now wiggle in the rack.

How solid is the bar that holds the bike? I'm thinking of the riders I've heard of who've had people hit the bikes and not the truck (or even worse, hit the bikes and not know about it until they get home ). I thought about one of those, thinking they might protect the bike in a light hit, or at least let me know when it happens. Apparently auto insurance won't cover the bike. I could at least put the wife's bike on the outside as a "buffer" bike. :D

Yep. What he said. The bars are really tough. It is great when the rack is up too. People seem to be a little intimidated to park to close to me.
