    I used to have the exact same problem on my old 89 4runner all the time. Some things haven't changed. :D

    click click click=battery and or cables and terminals
    ONE click--Starter--JUST FYI
    The starter solenoid engages-but the contacts are worn out. I have rebuilt a few--LOTS cheaper than a new or rebuilt one.
    10 bucks and a little time VS More than 100+ replacement.
    I do believe there is a "write-up" here somewhere.

    LEER Shell with dome lights operated with 3 way switches, aux backup lights with relay and 3 position switch, modified wiring to compass/temp display and clock to include switch that disables dimming function (poor man's DRL solution), Scan Gauge 2
    Take a close look at the battery where the positive terminal meets the case. I've seen two Tacomas now where the stock battery was leaking acid right at the positive terminal. If you have your stock battery still it may be time to replace it.
