Just finished putting part number 84652-02610 in my truck. Took about 15 minutes. I spent more time trying to get the wire harnesses out, then realized they also have clips that have to be depressed. I guess it is working backwards like others have said, but I don't care. It works.[IMG]

I installed part # 84652-04141 which is listed as for 05 to 08 in a 09 reg cab this morning. All the connections are exactly the same. IT WORKS! The first notch on the delay is slow as it should be and the last one is fast as it should be. I do NOT have this reverse situation as some have experienced and I have no answer as to why that happens. I also did not try the 09 part number so I cant answer the question whether that will work, but, why bother with that when you have the correct part number to work with now. All I know is that this works correctly and the part number posted is the correct part for a 09 Tacoma.

The one main difference in switches that I noticed is that the intermittant switch has an additional circuit board on top of where the terminals are. Obviously this is for the intermittant wiper operation.

This should settle once an for all that question.

As far as service managers telling us it cant be done, well we know different. On my window sticker, it said that rear cams were not available on 09 reg cabs. If this was true, why do reg cabs come thru with a rear cam in the tailgate handle, and wired up to the headliner. All that is needed is the mirror itself which is available from Mito at almost half the price Toyota charges?

My service manager says to me, why cant we do it and we get it done. He never says, it cant be done.

To all the people in this forum who posted pics on the install, it was a definete help to me and made the job alot easier. I hope I can return that favor in the future here.

    Fantastic!

    In summery:

The "old" 05-08 intermittent wiper stalk part# 84652-04141 works on the 09 truck.

The new 09 intermittent wiper stalk part# 84652-02610 works but the intermittent speeds are backward from what would be expected. :der:

Can anyone answer Atea's question? When you put int the #84652-04141 at 1sttoyotaparts.com you get no less than 11 different switch descriptions with the same part #. Are they all the same?

Yes. The same part is used in many different vehicles including Tundras

I've just updated the guide with the switch information. Thanks again to everyone who took the time to post their questions and results. Input like this helps make TW the great site it's grown to be!

Thanks Roland, Sunruner19 and Vise 4077. This is really great news. A few days from now and hopefully, I'll have the -04141 part installed on my 09 Tacoma without any problems.

I need a new mod, something to keep me busy in my so called retirement years. I wonder if its possible to have the headlights turn on automatically when I hit the wipers, like my Challenger does. I thought about a mod like headlight washers similar to the Sequioa, which I would probably do on my Tundra also.

Intermittent wipers (84652-04141) arrived today. Took maybe 30 minutes from start to finish to install. Roland's pictures and text (DIY OEM intermittent wiper stalk install) helped quite a bit. Work great as previously reported by others and NOT backwards.
