its not a quote skid plate cause if you ever skidded on anything your engine would be smashed.

allpro, ato, relentless fab make skid plates look into them for protection the toyota one offers nothing.

I had used my last coupon for free oil change at dealer and I recently changed it myself. So I grab my sockets and wrenches, thinking I'm taking off my trans skid plate, crawled under andwtf?! It's gone!

Called the dealer and they don't have it. Told me it prob got stolen in parking lot!
I'm out in the country and need it,even tho I have pre runner,I hit shit a lot.
    So now shopping around.
Anybody know of trans skid plate for prerunner? '07.

You had an aftermarket trans skid plate? They don't come on any stock vehicles. Theres a few guys on here that make em but they all require an IFS skid of one form or another -- other than stock. I've got one from Relentless Fab on my truck.

Looks like I'm wrong on calling it a trans skid. That's what I was finding online and the front skid I was finding was just under bumper. I had the rear portion of a stock front skid. The front portion is still there. The rear portion covers the oil pan, prob was taken off for oil change. It happened all the time with my old 97 4 wd. I always use those free oil change coupon books the dealers have, for weary customers.
I got a thick one with this truck, saw a gouge on interior door panel right before I signed. Free oil changes and a couple of camo caps fixed that, just not my missing skid.

not trying to resurrect a thread here but toyota definitely calls it a skid plate, regardless of its strength.

Don't listen to what toyota says :anonymous: I don't use mine offroading but I got a new one just in case..and last time i went offroading went through a small patch of mud..front hit the ground and hit a rock..put a nice gash in the 1/4in steel...lol So yes...better skid plates are useful even if you don't plan to climb rocks.
