Well I had been waiting to see a set of lights that would work for my Yota and being that XtremeHIDs.com is out of NC and I am in SC I got them in 1 day. The installation wasn't to bad, but when I ran into a issue I just called them and they walked me through everything. I will post some pictures tomorrow AM but they really turned out awesome. 6k diamond white hids in the headlights and 3k in the fog lights. I was thinking about switching to 8k for the headlights and wanted to see if anyone has 8k installed so I can see how it would look on my truck? 2006 white Tacoma. Thanks all

    /cringe...

High color HID's are a total waste of money and blind oncoming drivers.

In fact the installation of HID systems in non-HID housings is illegal in the US and used to carry a hefty fine. I know it was $6000 per offense for any shop selling and installing them into non-HID housings (that's $12k per vehicle). That's $24k for you, 2 headlights and 2 fog lights, HOWEVER I can honestly say I've never heard of a end-user being fined directly for it.

I HAVE personally seen people get fix-it tickets for crappy glare on their HID retro kits. For me it's worth the few extra bucks to just buy the correct housings/reflectors and/or do a complete retrofit.

If you don't have a perfect, WELL defined cut-off on the low beams, please do yourself and everyone else a favor and remove them.

There's a lot of good articles out there that explains things very well, including some that get into the physics of light wavelength and reflectors and about as detailed as you can get. A few are even on this site in the lighting forum.
