    Hey guys,

Wanted to get your opinion on something... I just bought a 2012 V6 4X4 Double Cab Manual Transmission with the SR5 package (Canadian Model).

It comes with the 16" alloy wheels and 245/75/R16 rubber. I like the look of the 16" alloy wheels but would like the wider tire similar to what comes on the TRD Sport.

Question #1 - Is it ok to mount a 265/70/R16 tire on that rim and install? Do I need to play with backspacing or offset? Have any of you guys done that? If you have an you have pics, please send to me.

Question #2 - Looking at getting BFG ATs 265/70/R16, are these a generally good All terain tire? Any of you guys tow a 6000lb trailer with them? Any disadvantages or other AT tires that you would recommend? Looking for a good all round all terrain tire that is good in snow, towing, bit of mild offroading, and street.

Thanks. So excited to get my first Taco!!!!!

You won't have any problem fitting those tires on your truck. Your truck has the same setup as the other one. No need to worry about anything just mount them up.

Can't answer about the tires I've never owned a set.

Welcome man, the BFG AT is used by tons of people. It's a good tire but that is no reason to rule out other options too. No one can tell you what tire to get for your application but there are different factors to consider.
You can look up a tires load rating and how many lbs it's rated to support, if its M+S rated, how aggressive the tread pattern is etc. . .

A lot of people love Duratracs for the snow, they can be had in different load ratings for different towing/hauling capacity. A little cheaper/lighter/less aggressive option is the Hankook Dynapro ATM, does good on gas mileage but still capable off road.

Overall if you want the BFG AT though, it is a widely used tire with a good rep
