    Sign doesnt mean anything.

The dealer should have refused to service the vehicle if they did not want to be responsible for it.

Owner could have also taken some responsibility in letting them know whatever needed to be done about the wheels, then maybe it wouldn't have an issue.

Lug nuts? I was thinking back spacing. From my experience with wheels if your wheel is rubbing up against the caliper it's time to get a set of wheel spacers and longer studs or buy a new set of wheels.

I am not sure if those wheels OP has right now are cheap. They look pretty nice.

It should be a given too a tech that when you remove a wheel with "Locks" and Spacers, that they HAVE too go back on. And the owner did take the responsibility when he went BACK and said they did it wrong.

Maybe when you go to repair shops/dealers you baby them and stand over there shoulders telling them how to do there job, but I think most of us expect some kind of competency.

Granted he could have mentioned it but he shouldnt have too.

The tech forgot the hub centric ring. There should be no argument on replacing a wheel that was damaged due to the service techs' mistake.
You shouldn't have to tell your mechanic "don't forget the centering rings".
Good thing it didn't fail completely and cause any bodily injury!

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
It was not rubbing before they touched it, only after. Therefore the wheel was installed wrong. I originally thought they put the wrong nuts on because of the bulges in the hub bore, but the steering wheel shake, caliper rub, and mount damage (where lugs seat) suggest the wheel was installed crokked.

Glad you got it all figured out, just FYI project kics makes some wonderful lug nuts that have a washer on them where they seat against the wheel. This helps when your torquing down on them they don't wear the metal down where the lugnuts set

    I love this statement... :))

OP, glad this is working out. I have learned being calm, talking with management (continuing to escalate) and asking for what you want in a calm professional manner is usually met with little resistance.
