With your current setup, under normal driving conditions, you might get away with minimal rubbing here and there. However, if you do off-road, you will run into issues when you air down. The tires will flex more and they will definitely rub on the UCA/spindle area. You don't want to get a flat tire on the trails. Just something to think about.

I know quite a few people that run adapters, Spidertrax & All Pro, and I've never heard of anyone having issues. Just make sure you get the hub-centric units and for peace of mind you can opt for the ET lugs. Almost all big chain tire places WILL NOT mount/rotate any vehicle with adapters/spacers b/c of liability issues. If you're buying everything brand new, that's over $200 for everything. Did you know we're doing a GB on our 17" wheel?:D

    no I did not? Info?

Before I spend $200.00 on adapters I would rather go with rims and then do the CMC, How much offset would I need with the rims?

I assume you are skilled at the size of the rims I would need :)

    necro post...

Think I am going to switch tires out to the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 275/70R17

Since I now have 285/70R17 the smaller 275 should reduce the rub I have a full turn correct?

I put 15K on the 285's and like the look (BF Goodrich AT/KO) but my wife (and yes me) can't stand my lack of turning radius I have, so one option was to go with new rims and CMC etc... Don't like that idea so going smaller to the 275 should solve the rubbing on my TC UCA's

I have a 2010 Dbl cab TRD 4x4 I just put a set of BFG all Terrain. 265/70x17. Had to remove front mud guards and trim about two inches of the front fenders at the bottom. It looks great it has stock aluminum wheels

Or you can just get wheel spacers, those will stop the rubbing on the UCA, but it will most likely increase the rubbing on the bottom of the fender flares/inner wheel wells and possibly the cab mount.

Edit: i didnt read the whole thread, looks like you have already been over this and the pros/cons of reducing the offset

Evan.. yup, appreciate the advice though... just trying to decide on the 275's not a lot of options out there in the 275/70/17

i had spidertrax spacers on my old jeep and never had a problem... i would only run a spidertrax spacer though... dont trust any other ones.

my advice is to just buy some SCS wheels and be done with it by time you spend 200 on spacers you could've had a lot of your wheel cost behind you. plus there are not twice the lug nuts to tighten and worry about coming loose.

I think to be on the safe side I am going with 265/70/17

I spent the last few hours reading a ton of post hear and the one you started OZ-T was the one that swayed me...

    Stock tires are 265/65/17

So the diff is below which gives me a little more height then stock... And I want to stay with a C rated load So I am now looking at the Duratrac....

    Any opinions on Duratrac's ?

Well you are just a ton of info....

I am trying to avoid ANY rub at full lock.. the 285's are way to much rub and I don;t want spacers...

from the 11 page thread I read, many said with 275/70/17 they still had "slight" rub at full lock....

That 255/75/17 give me some options

    C rated MT/R

Nitto Terra MT's have the TERRA AT's on my wife's Jeep
