Is that a new recall? I've had to replace the spiral cables in my old '05, and in a friend's '05; at about $220 each (cost of part). It's a fairly easy job to replace if you're handy, but I'd be curious if Toyota might reimburse me for those parts? (I haven't received any letter as of now, and Toyota has my '05 truck in the database and doesn't know I replaced the cable). I know my ex-GF had a '93 4x4 with the 3VZE, and got a check for $1400 because she had paid cash to get the heads done at 70K miles, and that job was done before they came out with the recall on that problem. Ironically, a year later, she got another letter telling her to report to the local dealer for a complete engine, as the head gaskets she got in the first job, were also the "bad ones", and they were replacing the short block free for people who had gotten the heads done at least once.

I have an '05 Sport and just called the dealer to make an appointment to get my 'airbag light on problem' fixed under the recall. (it's been on for a while)

They took my VIN # and told me that my truck was not included in the recall.

    grrrrrr!!

This sounds like it's gonna cost me,,,,

Is there some site that lists recalls by VIN #s?

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
It is a fairly recent recall, March of this year

You can run it through Toyota's database. I'd trust that before I'd trust the stealership.

In the meantime, the air bag light MUST be on per my dealer to fix it. They won't fix until that happens OR you receive a letter. Waiting on my letter.....
