Best sounding is so extremely subjective you'll never get a good answer, and even if you did, it may not match your tastes anyways.

I went with the TRD, loud enough to be noticed, but doesn't drone on the highway. Carries a lifetime warranty against corrosion. The tip also says TRD and matches the TRD stickers on the bed, obviously, so bonus.

I installed the Flow Master American Thunder system on my 2011 along with a CAI. Love the exhaust note. Very easy install, I did it on the driveway using rear jack stands. Everything lined up perfectly to the factory hangers. Took two hours start to finish.

Ha! The Tacoma's just don't sound good opening them up with an aftermarket exhaust. Sound like the "fast and furious" cars. Stay stock!

Then again I'm coming over from years of driving diesel trucks. Nothing sounds better than rowing gears behind a Cummins with the exhaust upgrade.

Dual exhaust I dunno but I went with dynomax super turbo, It was dyno tested from someone on here and was the only exhaust that increased HP and it's not loud at all. Just a nice rumble in the lower rpms

^^This. My friend has 2 inch straight pipes with no cats on his 05. Sounds like an outboard, plain horrible.
