The posts that hold my dead pedal in place are broken and I'm looking for a factory replacement. Does anyone have a part number or a source for this part?

    Thanks,

    Chad

What the hell is a dead pedal?

You got a gas pedal, a brake pedal and maybe a clutch pedal.

Sounds like a dealer part call the dealer.

Dead pedal thread back from the dead...

The replacement I purchased just broke as well. Bumping this to see if anyone has found a way to reinforce the dead pedal so the assembly isn't dependent on soft, thin plastic. I'm ordering two foot rests this time around, and I was thinking about trying to fill the voids in one of them with casting resin and then gluing up a wooden block in the middle to add some stability to keep the plastic posts from collapsing. This forum has hacked and improved so many elements on this truck, maybe we can tackle the foot rest now.

I had that pedal removed the day I bought the truck. It was nearly impossible to press clutch pedal with that thing in place. I think the designer was wearing size 8 shoes.

The pedal is still only $5.83 in the link a few posts up.

I guess I'm the only one actually using it. The dead pedal in my old beater Honda Civic was solid...I could stand on it. I find myself using the dead pedal to push back in my seat, reach back for the rear glass, or when I reach for my wallet in my back pocket.

Dude I know.. I have a size 13 foot and if I have boots on.. its such a pain in the ass

Now when I drive long distances I wear my FiveFinger shoes. Much better for the feel of the pedals

Unscrew the white plastic blocks off the floor posts. Snap them into the rectangle holes in the dead pedal. Then push the dead pedal onto the floor posts. If the rectangle parts of the dead pedal are split, put a zip tie around each one.

I considered that, but was apprehensive about it. I figured it would screw up the threads on the posts. I will do that. Much obliged to you!

Nope, won't hurt anything. That's the way it's designed to go together.

When you have the white plastic blocks in your hand, you will see they are not square. They are rectangle and have to go in the dead pedal the correct way.
