well im not going to get into an argument. but i know when i hold it for 5 seconds it turns my VSC AUTO on. it turn TRAC & A-TRAC off....i was def pushing my truck hard and it still stayed off...i see you have a 2011 or earlier model, just asked my buddy because he has a 2010 TRD. His will do exactly what you say it does. but he told me they changed that for the 2012. Thats why i am saying that mine does stay off.

Just greatly reduces the VSC sensitivity

There's no argument to be had, this has been investigated thoroughly by more than 1 member here, as well as plenty of people in FJC/4runner/TTORA communities.

Above 30mph VSC starts monitoring again, period. It will NOT kick in unless you start to get nuts, just like it wouldn't kick in below that speed unless your truck was getting out of control.

In order to SEE the effect, you have to have BOTH:

    - Truck is above (or thinks it is above, due to wheelspin) 30mph.
    - Loss of stability severe enough to invoke the system to act.

Just going 30+ in a straight line will not kick off the VSC...why would it? The truck is under control.

I had read all this on here, but got to find out firsthand on a muddy hill where I needed all the wheelspin I could get and was fishtailing side to side on the rev limiter. Once the fishtailing got bad enough, the engine cut and ABS started doing its thing even though VSC was "off" via the semi-killswitch. I was kind of annoyed...had it not done that, I could've made the hill. Instead, I got to ride a strap.

ABS isn't designed to make it stop faster, that is not the purpose of ABS.

ABS is to prevent the wheels from locking up so that you can still steer around things under extreme braking. You cannot steer with the front wheels locked up.

The VSC is over active IMO , when it does engage , it pushes you into the oncoming lane

Granted , I am lifted and the VSC reset did help up to the point where I got my 275's

Yeah. I have had no change in VSC activity after lifting...it still only gets involved when it should.
