'05 Tacoma AC Compressor $1k?!!!

Really $1k for a AC Compressor Anyone out there know a cheaper option?

When mine went out on my 06 the dealer told me it was $2,500.

 

There is a high theft of tailgates, maybe AC compressors too. Check Kijiji.

This is at Advance and its reman, I personally have no qualms with reman especially with lifetime warranty.

But my question to you are you doing the job yourself such as flushing and refiling total refrigerant,oil and whatnot?

What exactly did they quote you on, on that 1k job?

 

This is from my local mechanic, he said the local Toyota dealer said about a grand just for the compressor, he's looking for a cheaper option for me as they seem to be a ripoff. I printed out the rockauto.com and other websites for him. I luckily have a great/honest local mechanic.
