Anyone with 285's have any experience with these? all the threads ive found are years old. i just ordered two bags and valve cores to do my front tires and try it, and wanted to see if anyone else has used them? they are the ones from innovative balancing.

yea, you buy bags of them that are different ounces for different tires sizes. put them in your tire, and take all the weights off.

Just an FYI, something similar just came up on a motorcycle forum and it turns out that some manufacturers won't honor their warranty if you use beads. Read your warranty info or check the manufacturer's website before using them. I don't know if this is true for cars but it'd be worth looking into.

Personally, I wouldn't use them except as a last resort. Plenty of people use them without issue but there seem to be just as many that have used them and will never touch them again. Some brands are prone to breaking apart, then the powder gunks up. If the inside of the wheels are wet during the tire install (from the lubricant used to set the bead), it can cause the beads to gunk up and stick together. I would also doubt these are compatible with TPMS if you have them. Just my $0.02 on them. Are you having issues getting your wheels balanced using traditional weights?

Have you tried Road Force balancing? I've heard that helps sometimes with the larger and more stubborn A/T or M/T tires.

i dont think the tires are the problem. i think the Ivan Stewart wheels are pains in the ass to balance.
