I don't trust stealerships in anything. I know that sounds extrme and I'm sure there are honest hard working people out there but I've been screwed enough to know I just can't believe what they say they do. I change my own oil for my own peace of mind.

sounds like they charged you extra so they can shelf some free oil. 5.5qts but 8?!! lol my 4 runner takes 7 but that is just stupid with 8 and very obvious its some shady dealer stealing going on.

You know....stealerships are always looking to make a quick buck. I know a wrap and tuner shop that slips 10k-20k ontop of msrp to get their customer cars that are not to be sold for a few weeks ahead. After seeing a few of those local deals go down I will never trust dealerships anymore.

Honestly, you're an idiot if you think you have to have the dealership change your oil to keep your warranty.

If one is willing to take advantage of the "free" services then I'd understand but to wait til the "free" service is over just so it does not void warranty of the taco? Unless one intentionally pour sands in the engine, I don't get how Toyota will come up with another one of the lousy excuse for that not taking advantage of their services. Toyota already made their cars/trucks the shortest warranty period with the lowest mileage possible. I'd say ffawk Toyota for that. Many auto makers these days make cars/trucks that come with have 100K/5yrs warranty already.
