Honestly my 2013 had great lights with good flat cutoffs but i wanted brighter light. Retrofit is the way to go.

Oh and here is an Aftermarket EAGLE EYES PROJECTOR HEADLIGHT WITH HID KIT on an impala. Installed these for my friend and got the best laugh ever out of the output.

is there any guide on doing the retrofit? I'm fairly mechanical but i'm not particularly interested in ruining some stock headlights. I can build the hell out of a motor though? :p

    Look up "Black headlight mod"
That's the procedure to open and reseal the housings.

D2S and Mini-H1 are straightforward... not much harder than changing the light bulb once you have the housing opened up.
Wiring is not complicated... hot to the battery, a couple of grounds, and everything else is plug and play.

so is there NO dremmeling or cutting of the current reflector/housing? My biggest concern would be making sure I was able to center and properly align the projector

Hit and miss on the D2S... I haven't seen a clear answer on whether or not trimming is required with the "classic" round D2S projector.
The square D2S-3.0 does require trimming the BACK of the reflector mounting area to allow the mounting nuts to snug down.

But there is no drilling out of the hole where the light goes. The projector itself is self-aligning in the reflector (you'll still have to adjust it after install)
