3100 RPM at 75 MPH, is this normal?

    It's a generalization. I actually went on Tire Rack's web site to look at the stock Rugged Trail tire specs, which shows 680 revs/mi. This is manufacturer's test data and includes sidewall deflection.

    680 revs/mi x 3.727 axle ratio x 0.72 fifth gear x 75 mph / 60 = 2281 rpm at the crank.

    op if you have 22'' tires then you were in 5th the whole time and need bigger tires.

    Well, with the truck in D its running a little over 2200 rpm at 75mph and my gas mileage is a little better too. I averaged 18.2 mpg on a 130 mile trip, up from 15.8...

    Your're right about that, the first time I reached over to get my beer I barely bumped the shifter and knocked it into 4 :D
