Plasti derped eyelids..

So I got carried away with the plastidip and decided to try out doing eyelids.

What do you guys think?

 

I think it looks cool. Did you jsut tape a line then try to peel it?

 

Yea I taped it off and then scored it with a razor before peeling off.

 

I think it'll look better if you just color match it.

Indeed. They do make plastidip in red. Not sure how close it would be to rad red though.

I like,go to auto zone and get the toyota color match rattle can and spray,good job

 

They make a create your own color kit so you could it matched, if not, then pretty close. Bitch thing about it though is that it's not a spray. unless you pour it into a spray can and have a paint gun and compressor and all that

 

Looks good. I did mine also about a month ago and they are holding up fine.

 

just my opinion man, do a bhlm and if you do eyelids with plastidip, as mentioned before try to color match. i personally think sleeper eyelids look best since they match the lines on the grill. thats whats fun about plastidip tho, you can just peel it right off

 

Anyone ever tried to paint on top of plastidip? I could get some color matched paint and mask it off again and hit it with that? Then I still have peel it off option.

 

Don't think it'll work like that. Paints can create a seal and end up sealing the plasti-dip so you won't be able to peel it off. If you color match, best bet would be to strip the plasti-dip, prime it, then paint, then clear coat if you want to

Exactly. They don't look like eye lids....they look like eye BROWS

 

not because of color match. . . . because the eye lids freak me out a bit. cars seem to look more like people every day. soon they will be autonomous, and take over the world. . . . .

i saw a vw beetle the other day with eye-lashes. very, very creepy. doing lids on the trucks doesn't look bad, whether black or matched, but yes, indeed, very creepy. someone said mascara

 

Ok Iv heard and agree with a lot of these points, My make shift eyelids/lashes/brows are off and I will be ordering some color matched ones.

No harm in trying right.

I think thst silver color match looks great do. The only factor is that its not clear coated like the factory paint

 

Can you still peel it off like plasti-dip though? I've heard about people using plasti-dip then painting over it but they could no longer peel it off cause of the paint creating a seal...guess it depends on the type of paint?
