While I have no experience with this particular issue, I would suggest the dealer may be able to make the change.

doesnt it tell you the kms below the mph, in smaller font in the same speedo window?

the mph is in white, while the kmph is in red/orange below that in the same radius.

This is true for the speedometer...not the odometer.

True, but he's talking about the ODOMETER. The one that tracks the miles that you've driven.

op may just have to keep track with miles and convert them via calculator. thats the cheapest way to do it

Legally you may have to change the gauge cluster in order to import the truck

There are a few threads on importing US Tacomas into Canada

My truck is a US truck which I bought brand new from the States and imported.
As long your speedometer has both scales, you are fine. If it doesn't Canadian Tire will give you a sticker with a scale that you can convert.
Our Truck has both scales on the speedometer, do no issue.

With regards to the odometer, you would have to buy a Canadian cluster then have a dealer uPdate the ODO reading as it is stored on the ODO.
I looked into it as the clusters are easy to change and fairly cheap but I was worried about issues with warranty due to the scale change.
I had planned to change it once the warranty was up, but now I have gotten used to it, so no big deal.

I have a scan gauge which is mounted above the steering wheel, works great, and I use one of the display columns for speed in KPH.

Good luck importing, I've done around 6 cars now with no issues. Well worth it, I saved almost $13,000.00 on my Tacoma buying it in the US.

    Shawn.

I am thoroughly shocked that they do not have a button to do this. Most of the vehicles I own (General Motors) do this in seconds.
