I currently own a 95 (not a 95.5 but a real 95) Tacoma and looking for some suspension parts for it the other day I was surprised to hear how small my truck was. Hmmm guess I never looked at it that way. But when I drove a Hilux in Afghanistan it was the same size as my Tacoma....who knows maybe we've come full cirlce on the body size and style.

I'm currently very happy with my 2012 Tacoma and looking forward to a few mods.

What happens in a few years to the Tacoma is really of no current concern of mine.

    And no...I don't want a diesel.

Ya but this is the first one that showed that Toyota is definitively redesigning the Tacoma (Generation 3). Plus they have to meet new MPG standards.

As this is the 'Tacoma World' forum it's definitely a interesting topic. Lots of people are posting they 'don't care,' but I don't believe them, not at all lol...

I dig it. Always up for a little automotive news/speculation. Especially if it has to do with the Toyota truck line.

If I'm not mistaken Toyota was ready to put a diesel in the Tundra in 2009 or 2010 but the economy went south. Due to lagging sales they decided against it--but still have the plans ready...if and when.

That's what I'm holding out for. But then again I just got my 95 broke in at 190,000.

Regardless of when it gets its redesign, I would wait until after the first year at least. I have never had great luck w/ 1st year re-designs.

For the 2013 I'm looking to get soon, at least I can say its been tried and true. How many miles of minor problem usage do you guys reckon I can get out of a 2013 4x4 V6?

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Really gonna put the kibosh on the full size truck market and heavy haulers. No way to make a 3/4 or 1 ton gas or diesel get 28mpg without some drastic power loss and a few cylinders. But they may surprise me, who knows.

ohh im not mad, obviously i clicked it didnt i? what i mean is i dont mind the thread/topic whatever the case is.....but when its everyday, the same thing, same diesel trash talk.

its clogging up space and making it longer to search through stuff, having to weed through 60 threads OF THE SAME THING.

u know theres to many threads when i already know what u guys are gonna say before even clicking it......and i was right when i clicked this one.

thats all. no biggie tho. i just actually use the "search button".

It looks like the next significant redesign of the Tacoma is for the 2016 Model Year.
My company makes airbag inflators and are in the running for the passenger inflator, which has a Start Of Production of August 2015. They usually don't do full bid packages unless they are doing an interior redesign that allows Airbag Module changes. That would be in line with the CAFE standards change and about on their normal schedule since 2nd Gens are getting up in age.
    Just a heads up.
