So after many, many years, I am back behind the wheel of a Toyota. Just junked my 2005 Colorado and bought a stock 2012 Tacoma. Nothing special, no bells, no whistles, but it's new, it's Toyota and it's all mine.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of where I should be looking for toolboxes that will fit this truck. I had a UWS on the Colorado and loved it. Are there any boxes out there, low profile, that will not require me to drill into the truck? Not sure if there are any boxes out there that slide into the rail system.. Any helps or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Weatherguard if you want something secure and solid.

I'm sure the UWS are okay though.

Use j-hooks. Or do like I did and cut the loop off the end of the factory rail tie downs, then drill out the existing holes and run bolts up through the box.

Hell yeah you do, if I could afford one I'd have one. Weatherguard boxes are legit.

Weatherguard if you have the money to burn and want a nice box for sure. I have the UWS toolbox I picked up used from another member for $150 and I'm happy with it. I don't store anything crazy expensive in it, mainly just wrenches and such so I'm happy with it. I'm pretty sure you could pry it open with a crowbar, though.

I have a low profile black uws tool box. But if i could do it again i would get a weatherguard. I don't remember seeing any similar boxes from weatherguard when i bought mine tho. Guess i dident look hard enough.
