Help Me Protect My Taco

Has anyone used this stuff along the rockers and lower section of the doors? Please comment on adhesion and durability and anything else you feel is noteworthy. I would also like to hear from those who used a paint on coating. What did you use and how's it holding up?


Its called ISC Helicopter-OG-HD-Surface Guard Tape
Its a 14.5mils thick polyurethane film.

 

How about clear plasti dip? i read that someone did that somewhere and it worked pretty well

 

0.3mm? Not very thick.

ISC Helicopter-OG-HD Heavy Duty Surface Guard Tape (14 mil Outdoor Grade) is an extremely tough conformable polyurethane tape which was formerly referred to as helicopter/leading edge wing tape. It provides excellent paint protection from punctures, tearing, abrasion and erosion and is available in an indoor grade or an outdoor grade. Indoor grade can be used anywhere it will not be directly exposed to ultra violet light (the sun). If exposed to sun light, it may yellow over time. Outdoor grade provides excellent protection against ultra violet light, temperature extremes and automotive solvents. Outdoor grade will not yellow over time. The tape is clear/transparent and is supplied on a white paper release liner.

Just wondering how this has held up against painted on products.

 

Helicopter blades don't generally encounter rocks.

I'd look into some of the thicker 3M products. Like I said... 14.5 mils is only 0.3mm... I'd be wanting something closer to 0.5mm or thicker.

I think that is the same stuff that Zagg uses for their screen protecters.
