I just bought a certified used 09 with only 14000 on it , this is the first vehicle I've ever owned that came with a warranty. I've always done my own work but was wondering if something does go wrong or break can Toyota refuse to cover it under warranty if I've done the oil changes? I don't really know how that works...

Thnks for the input guys! I'm gunna just do it myself and be satisfied knowing its done right. Without looking at my manual, anyone know specifically what the 20k mile mark service entails? Brakes, diff, tranny oil, etc? any "how to" threads out there dedicated to these service maintenance intervals specifically? Thanks again for the input.

It's all in your manual. Might as well get started with the DIY mindset by looking it up yourself. That way you don't have to worry about someone forgetting to list something. There are stickies at the top of this forum for just about every procedure. You can download the factory service manuals too. If you hit a specific road block people here can help. There isn't much to do at 20K. Mostly you just look around to make sure things look good.

    +1 this

i haven't had to change oil in the Taco (only 98 miles!) but for the past decade for my other vehicles i have been buying oem filters and mobil 1 at walmart. usually costs about $30 for a full synthetic change.
