Maybe they had a warped one out of the shipment of intake boxes at the assembly plant, and the engine tech on the line figured no one would notice and figured don't throw it away cuz it's bad for the environment. So he put it on thinking no one will notice until the truck is sold and just his luck an infamous Tacoma World member stumbles across this, thus the mystery begins.................

Well as Ancient Astronaut Theorists suggest we were made by them therefore we made this vehicle which in turn made this heat. Therefore concluding that Aliens caused this Unidentified Heated Object.

The only thing I had installed previously was the lights themselves, no wires.

    Working on pictures.

Sitting over? Over the fender, like any 2.7, I guess. There's nothing beneath it, if that's what you're asking.

Ah 2.7 that explains everything - well, not really. I was thinking 4.0 air box. Let us know when you are able to look inside the box to see if there's any other signs of melting or heat distortion.

Ah, my bad - should've clarified. But I've already opened it up, everything looks fine.

Backfiring came to mind, but then your oil filter would probably be charred, or on fire. :bananadead:

Did you overheat at any time recently? Reason I ask is because sometimes my overflow tank spews hot coolant all over the front of my engine bay, and I can imagine it might be hot enough to warp that plastic?

Is that brown line a crack or a burn? Looks like it melted from the top down on the outside.
