You can get that same Amazon kit for about $70 on eBay, but....

    The harness is too short.
The switch does not fit the dash and looks like shit.
I couldn't even get the harness to plug into the switch.

The Amazon/eBay kit is good to get a set of housings that'll snap into your bumper... would be a good idea to seal them, there's been one report of leaking.

Then go to http://www.toyotatrdparts.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=-59 and get the switch kit and harness for $80.

Cut the connector off of the end of the harness opposite the switch, ditch the entire supplied harness except for the section that connects to the housings, buy some 12ga and 16ga wire and a simple fog light relay and some fuses, and wire as follows:

The FJ Cruiser switch in the link above is nicer than the stock Tacoma switch. As well as having dash illumination, it also has an indicator light.
I am showing it in the diagram wired to the parking lights, so the dash illumination will be on with the headlights... it can be wired to the dash dimmer, but I never use mine and the switches aren't that bright anyways. It's just an easier way to wire is since only 2 connections are needed to the vehicle itself, and one connection to the relay.

Use the 12ga wire from the fuse holder through the relay to the lights.
Use the 16ga wire for the switch connections to the truck and relay.
