    It was my old joystick from the 90's. I turned it into a weighted shift knob. Should have wired up the buttons to do shit though.

    Agreed. While it's not a shift knob I would ever use, having the buttons functional would increase the "cool" factor exponentially.

    You could hook up the buttons to a sound board that makes radar lock, machine gun, and missile sounds.

    Now...ditch the throttle paddel, and hook up a throttle quadrant to the arm rest :p

    Because of our fly-by-wire throttle, this would probably be a relatively easy modification. Hell of a lot easier to run a couple of wires instead of a throttle cable.
