Okay guys I know I am going in reverse from what most want to do but I need a little help converting from a manual trans to auto.

I have a 2007 Tacoma 4cyl. Prerunner and I am wanting to convert it from manual to Auto. I am asking for a list of what parts that will be needed or any advice if any one has done this. I can get any of the parts needed without any problem but am not sure what all will be needed. If you have any advice please let me know.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Transmission, ECU, harness, possibly the radiator if it doesn't have tranny line hookups, tranny lines, driveshaft possibly, fly wheel -> flex plate, toruque convertor, center console

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Take it to the dealer and trade it for an automatic version of your truck would be the easiest way I would think.

x2. Parts needed would be your checkbook, a pen and a key swap.

X3.....aside from the cost and complexity of the swap you can add the devaluation to the vehicle as well. I wouldn't even consider buying a Tacoma that somebody converted unless I got it dirt cheap. The old days when you could do this kind of stuff reasonably are gone......long gone. :(

Yes they are, all this computerized stuff makes things so complicated and technical that tampering with it is a risky idea. Just never know how big a can of worms you are gonna open doing something like this.

My Grandma has a 06 Honda Civic and the battery went dead in a parking lot once. It reset something on the computer so that the car would not start until some type of special code was worked into it. Tried everything to figure it out and ended up trailering it to the dealership to have it fixed.
