I get the warped rotor feeling too. I put new fj rims and dura tracs on and it got better but still does it. The weird parts is I can get it to shake like that just by letting off the gas and slowing(no brakes) to a stop on my gravel driveway. I hear there is a steering wheel damper TSB I'm going to talk to my dealer about. If they tell me I warped the rotors through braking hard I'm going to be pissed because that is a big pet peeve of mine and I definately don't brake hard enough to heat them up to that degree. The girlfriends braking habits, well thats another story!

I have a 2012 SR5 D/C and have had a couple of issues, first in cold weather(less than 0C or 32F) you will hear a hum in the heater on full on the floor or the mix(floor and front window) until the engine warms up a little and then it hums in and out for a minute and then stops altogether, this happens when you use the heater on full setting, if you use defrost on the front windows you can't hear it. Toyota can't even notice it until I show them every time I've went there. I had the heater blower motor replaced the fist time and had the floor heater duct reconnected the second time. The third time they did not find anything because it was a warm day. Also when you hear that hum noise you can hit the A/C and recycle and the hum gets louder and then dies out, now that the days are getting warmer here I'll have to wait until it gets cold here again next year and have to deal with that annoying hum. Also I have had to get the Glove Compartment replaced, you literally had to slam it to close it or it would just pop open, other than that I LOVE the truck, it comfortable on the highway, city driving, or offroad. Also those factory tires Dunlop AT20 suck in the rain and are dangerous. Does anyone elses truck make a rattle noise in the steering when on a dirt road when the truck moves laterally side to side, Toyota could not find any problem there either.

had my 2012 for a year now 23,000 miles. No issues other than alignment off after toyota put 3 inch leveling kit on new (started to see tire wear) and the driver door window rattles when down about 2 inches. Having that looked at next oil change.

22k miles on my 2012 and no problems. I had the whistle noise, but adding tubing to the hood gasket fixed it.

    Three problems:

    • Intermittent steering column rattle, fixed with TSB
    • Cold Air intake rattle in cold weather, fixed with TSB.
    • Replaced driver’s seat. Pillow top compression issues. Shout out to the dealership in Dartmouth NS, thanks’ for your help with this, excellent customer service!
All were minor issues but annoying.

I’m feeling better about the truck since these issues have been addressed. It’s working excellent and I’m very happy with it. I’ve had a lot of complements about the truck; the color in particular (spruce mica)

Nlflyfish see my number one regarding your steering rattle. Canadian TSB is 3751

I was so used to my old Grand Cherokee having so many shakes, rattles, and random noises that I don't think I would notice it until it hit me. But so far, 8000 miles and only the front grill whistle noise that I remedied for the most part.

I test drove a 2013 last week and the passenger airbag light stayed on. I did not notice it being on during my previous test drive. I informed the salesman, but don't know if they have acted upon it.

UPDATE: The salesman called me back and said it was functioning correctly. I contacted Toyota Chat and they also said it is functioning correctly. Specifically the chat session indicated the light is always on but with a different message depending if the airbag is active or off.

    No mods... yet.
2012, around 23k miles. The only issues thus far have been a blown wheel speed sensor (L Rear), which I brought upon myself playing excessively in the snow, and a rubber moulding above the drivers door coming loose (both replaced via Toyotacare, no questions asked).

Hold the button for 5 seconds, and it will stay on recirc.

You can hold the button to keep it on till you restart the truck.

However, it does that to prevent the windows from fogging - often, you'll want fresh air instead of recirc to help keep condensation down.

It's not much of a concern in certain parts of the country, but you can always tell people who fail at this around here. They look out at the world through a tiny little hole in the fog on their windshield.
