I ordered an intermittent windshield wiper switch from Camelback Toyota on 8/13/12 and FINALLY got it today (8/29/12...). Upon opening the box and removing the bubble wrap I noticed that there was a scratch/gouge on it, it also looks like a tab was broken off and there are numbers written on it in black marker. Is this normal for a new Toyota part or is it possible that I was sent a used part? I am working on uploading pictures now. Thanks.

Yours sounds suspicious. My switch was in a sealed plastic bag with Toyota part Number label. My local dealer was the same price as any I found online, about $90-95.

Yeah I am going to return it. I called parts but was told that I would need to speak with Jorge but he was gone for the day. I bought it with my credit card. I was already not too happy as it took 19 days just to get it. I think they forgot about it. Then I get the part and it looks used!

Here is a timeline: I ordered on 8/10/12, got confirmation email on 8/13/12, I called on 8/20/12 and they seemed to not know anything about it. Got a confirmation email that part arrived on 8/21/12. Got an email on 8/23/12 that part had been shipped. Part arrived today 8/29/12.

I bought from them because I read the good reviews on this website. I figured it would be safer to buy from a dealer than some random website.

In case anyone was wondering: I called Camelback Toyota and they said it sounds like I was sent a used part, that it was probably a screw up at the warehouse. They emailed me a label to return the part and ordered a new one. Hopefully this one will be a new part.

Seems odd they have a used part floating around a new parts wharehouse like that, glad to see they will make it right. By the way, this will be one of the best mods you will do.

Just to update: I finally received my new intermittent wiper switch on 9/12/12. I installed it as soon as I got home from work. It was a little bit of a PITA to get the plastic shroud off from around the steering wheel without scratching it but other than that it was a breeze. The switch works just like it is supposed to. Slower/Faster are correct. Love this mod. Do it if you haven't already done so.
