Importance of alignment after lift?

Ok here's the deal. I just threw on 5100's all around, 2.5" in the front with AAL in the rear bout a month or two ago. Since I only use my truck in the spring/summer I wasn't in a hurry to get my alignment done since the truck just sits and I have a commuter car. Well my car is dead temp and now I need to use the truck and I don't get paid til next week for the alignment. My question is, can I cause any perment damage driving around after a lift without the alignment? I mean my steering is pretty straight, but other then uneven tire wear is there a potentional to do other damage I'm not aware of?

 

No you'll be fine. Just do it asap to save your tires lots of unnecessary wear.

The truck might feel all good and drive straight, but if you let it go for long periods of time without an allignment, your tires are gonne wear 'funny' which will cause you to replace them sooner.

 

This happened to me after I installed my new UCAs. I put them on and went out of town for 3 weeks. The wife had to drive the truck -- I forgot about the alignment. When I got home my two front tires were worn to hell on the inside.

oh well -- lesson learned...

 

Yea don't hold off too long, save your tires.
